Pinewood Derby Cars Saturday

This video is 5 minutes, we have edited it and it shows stills at the end of each race so you can see how our cars ran compared to the others they raced. I should say Sid left in some of the crazy camera work so you could hear the crowd.

Sid helped Noah with his car. I think he and Noah were sweating bullets getting everything right. They went to the hardware store several times getting everything they needed. Then Noah publicly thank his grandpa for all his work.

Afterwards they auctioned off the boys cakes that they had made. This was all a cub scout fund raiser. I'm letting Trudy blog Noah's cake.

A good morning of Yard WORK

After a few days of temperatures in the 90's we had a morning in the seventies and overcast.
I don't know what time Sid went out to start cutting the limbs off the branches again but when I got up at 7 am it was still nice. I went out to the garden and cut the old corn stalks down.
While I was doing this Trudy came out and starting mowing the grass. Sid got the weed cutter going.
Sid made a mess on the sidewalk so Stevie and I got our brooms and started to sweep the walks. Baxter took our picture because he said you never see me in my pictures.
Here is Baxter getting ready to load another bunch of limbs into the dumpster.

Trudy and Stevie pulling the wheelbarrow into the dumpster. Yep everyone was working. It was still cool and overcast.

Baxter emptying the wheelbarrow. You can't believe how fast that wheelbarrow goes into the dumpster.
Of course here is Stevie looking cute as a bugs ear.

Grandpa had cut down 82 stumps around the yard and Stevie, Zane and Noah were going around picking them up and stacking them by the dumpster.

Noah would drive the lawn mower with the wagon attached and Zane and Stevie would fill the wagon with the stumps.

Sid and Noah filling this wagon full.

Sid got into the act of driving the lawn mower.
Trudy is shoveling the limbs into the wheelbarrow.
Still putting stumps into the wagon. Anyone need firewood? Its yours just come get it.
Make hay while the suns shines is a saying I used to hear all the time. Today we worked until the sun shined then it was toooo hot.
Just goes to show that many hands make light work and it can be fun. What's going to work, TEAM WORK as the wonder pets would sing.

Trudy's Masters graduation

Monday night Steve, Trudy, the kids and Sid and I went to Hollywood to see Trudy's Graduation. They served lite refreshments first and then had a couple of speakers.
This is a picture of the group that graduated with Trudy.

Trudy receiving her dipolma.
Looks happy doesn't she?

mmmmmmmm

Right after Lincoln came home from Afghanistan we went up to Chancy's Birthday dinner.
Mckay put on these clothes that were made especially for him and brought home by Lincoln.
I guess all the men wear this.

Looks better huh

Crape Myrtle

Sid planted two of these Crape Myrtle this spring. I thought they were supposed to bloom this fall but they are all bloomed out and very pretty.

One craft down two to go

One craft finished and two more to go. This was fun to make. It is out of blue plastic shopping bags and black garbage bags. I would have had it finished before this but I am to far away from JoAnn's.

ahhh work

This morning Sid decided to help cut the limbs of the pine trees and help the boys load them into the dumpster. He had to go get them up because Steve had gone to work and Trudy was at school.
You can see a wagon in the back ground and they loaded it up just like they did this wheel barrow and it worked niffy.
Grandpa making sure Baxter knew how to make the knot.
Noah hoping he could pull the load in.
As you can see it was wishful thinking because Baxter pulled in the load with Noah steering.

This sure makes the wagon and wheel barrow go in faster and all the way to the back.
Stevie's looking on.

Stevie just having fun.
