Swim Meet

We have two grandsons that are on a swimming team this summer.  Today was the last meet and it was such nice weather, mid 80's and a breeze.  We left home at 6:45 a. m. and arrived in Huntingtown about 7:30 am.  We arrived almost at the same time as the Stevens and the Bainters.
Sid set up our chairs and umbrella so we would have shade and then the different teams started their warm -ups.

I took egg sandwiches for breakfast.  Dad ate his on the way and I ate mine before the meet started.  At 10:30 I was starving.  Seemed like we had been there all morning.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every minute of the meet.  Seeing all the kids swim made me a little jealous.  I love to swim and would have loved to have swimming teams as I was growing up.  So back to the food.  They had walking tacos for sale so we ate lunch, and then on the way home at 12:00 noon, Dad and I stopped at burger king for a hamburger. I wonder what we will have for supper.

Tina trained this year to be a judge and here she is at our end of the pool.
They asked Trudy to be a sweeper today. All these new names of jobs people do at a swim meet.  They were really well organized, it went off like clock work.

McKay just as he finished touching the wall.

Zane swimming his last round.

Hmmm.  I was coming back from taking Trudy some sun screen, she had been out in the sun all morning.

A very lovely day, with the best company.

Baby Bibs

I have been bored lately. I guess that is it.  I just haven't wanted to do anything, even read much less housework. Then I got invited to a baby shower and that sparked me back to crocheting.  Almost got discouraged because I couldn't find my pattern, which did lead to a little house cleaning; I threw away a few things, put some of my recipes in a notebook so I could find my favorite weight watcher ones.
Here is the results of the bibs.  I finished the variegated pink and blue one and did the other three Wednesday and Thursday.

It is so relaxing to crochet, I should do more of it.

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July.  We left home at 3:30 to go to Tina and Lincoln's.  The Bainters met us there.  From there we went to the pool and swam, while Lincoln grilled chicken and vegetables.

Stevie this year is like a fish in water.

After we swam, we all walked over to the pond and watched the fireworks.  I think they were the best I have seen.

Sorry for the long blog, but we really did have a lot of fun.

Fixing thngs

I am not mechanically inclined.  I lean on others to fix what I break or whatever goes wrong.  I have a good husband that can fix just about anything.  My boys and girls are the same way they can fix anything.  ( course my girls  like to have their husbands do it).  Trudy came in the other day to have her dad come help her fix the trimmer.

Back to work.  She did decide she would let Steve finish up because it is hard work.  Baxter isn't here to do anymore.
