St Mary's County Fair

Sid and I had a neat experience this last Saturday, September 22, 2007. We went to the St. Mary’s County Fair and worked in a booth that our ward and another ward set up.

We had packets of the picture of Christ, the family proclamation, the testimony of Christ, and several pass out cards. There were also CDs of Gladys Night we could give away. If the people wanted a Book of Mormon, Bible or DVD that we had playing they signed a card with their name, phone number and what they wanted.

We worked the booth from 9 am to 11 am. I stood there and asked people if they wanted a free picture of the Savior. There were a few that didn’t want it but I’d guess I passed out about 30 or more. Sid passed them out also with Brother Davis from the other ward. We guess we passed about 50 altogether. We also passed out a lot of the CD’s of Gladys Night. The Black people really wanted that CD.

We got about 6 referrals also. Up to that point the other workers of the day before only had 9. Dad would stand there and ask them if they were interested in the DVD or B of M and if they said yes he would tell them it would come by free ground delivery. One woman even wanted to put down her address. I know the people had to know that representatives of our church, Missionaries, would call them.

We just had a great time. The parade started at 10:30 so it was pretty quiet until 11:00 and then we left and walked through the buildings looking at the exhibits, which were pretty nice. Now we also have free tickets to Chick fillet. No pictures forgot my camera.

Good job, I am glad you had fun. Sounds kind of scary to me.
