Day 2 of our travels to Myrtle Beach, Surfside

Our days started at 6:00 am.  Lincoln, Tina, Dad and I would get up every morning and drive to the beach. This is the first morning at Surfside Beach.

Dad getting ready for our walk. We would walk  a little over a mile and then turn back and Lincoln would run two miles and catch up with us.  Dad, Tina and I ended up walking over 3 miles each day.

I loved the early mornings at the beach. It was so beautiful and peaceful. There were a few beach combers and others starting to come and save their places on the beach.

We picked up a lot of pretty shells being on the beach so early.

After we were through walking, we would go back to the room and change into our swimming suits and go to the big pool. Since it was so early we were there a lot of the time alone. I got so I could swim several laps  before we left at the end of our vacation.  It felt good to be able to swim again and enjoy it.

After enjoying the pool we would get into the hot tub. It was nestled in palm trees, bushes and plants.  Very soothing.

The lazy river across the road opened at 9:00 am and we were alone there also most mornings.  Trudy, Noah and Stevie joined us one morning.

Then after the lazy river we would go back to our room and shower, eat breakfast and then decide what we would do for the rest of the day.  This day we decided to ride the shuttle to the beach. We would walk down to the shuttle sign and get on, but on the way home the shuttle would drop you off at your room.

In the mornings at the beach we would put up our umbrellas and get ready for a day of swimming, boarding, and eating and good company.

We sure enjoyed having Hope with us.

I loved the bark on the palm trees.  I had no idea that palm trees were South Carolina's state tree.

This day after the beach we all headed to the lazy river.

After a long day it was fun just to watch the others have fun.

We ended the day with Tina fixing our dinner, Tacos, or taco salad and a fruit dish.  It was very delicious.

I miss the morning walks on the beach! What a way to start a morning. I could do that every day!
